A Marine Asked Iraqis About Trump’s Travel Ban. The Conversation That Followed Will SHOCK You

A Marine Corp veteran and private contractor working on behalf of the United States in Iraq recently shared some personal conversations he’s had with Iraqis about the President’s temporary refugee travel ban.

What he had to say is pretty powerful.

Check it out (via Tribunist):

My simple question was, As an American, if I went in town right now, would i be welcome. They instantly said “absolutely not, you would not be welcome.”

I asked, what would happen if I went out in town. And they said, the locals would snatch me up and kill me within an hour. I’d be tortured first and after they were done I’d probably be beheaded and it would go on video for everyone to see as an example.

I already knew this was going to happen but I wanted to hear it from them. The point I’m trying to make is this is the local populace that would do this. This isn’t ISIS, this isn’t Al Quaeda, this isnt the PMU, this isn’t a militia from the Iranians or anything like that. This is the local populace that would do this.

So, my question to them was pretty simple after that:

If you would do this to me in your country, why would I let you in my country? Because all this means to me is that if you had the opportunity to take the life of an American, you would do it. Maybe that’s something you all need to think about back there.

Wow—a remarkable perspective from one of our veterans.

If nothing else, this is just one more reminder of all that our troops are doing for our freedoms overseas.
