BREAKING: Senate REVERSES Obama Law Preventing States From Drug Testing Welfare Recipients

President Trump and his allies in Congress have been hard at work trying to roll back the terrible policies that Obama subjected the American people to over the past 8 years.

Today, the Senate made a move that will erase an Obama-era rule preventing states from means testing some welfare benefits.

Here are the details…

From Washington Examiner:

The Senate on Tuesday passed legislation that would repeal an Obama administration rule that limits the ability of states to prevent drug users from receiving unemployment benefits.

The rule, which was published in the Federal Register last August, was meant to implement a law that requires people receiving these benefits to be able and ready for work. The law gave states the option of denying drug users these benefits.

Nice to see Congress getting things done.

What do you think about this move?

You know we always wondered why we gave Congress and the Senate Republican majorities and still nothing got done– Then along comes Obummer Care lite and Paul Ryan and all of a sudden it all makes sense– WE HAVE A LOT MORE HOUSE CLEANING TO DO!

Constitution of States calling for amendment. TERM LIMITS are the ONLY way to clean house. BOTH parties are guilty.

None of this pertains to the congress. In case you missed it, it is about welfare recipients and drugs.

Like I said, it pertains to welfare recipients and drugs. What is so difficult for you to understand? It is advocating that people recieving welfare be drug tested. Nothing whatsoever about term limits, or cleaning the house in the senate. Even though I am in favor of that. It is NOT the topic in this post. Do you FINALLY UNDERSTAND?

I am so tired of seeing stories that claim the federal government is granting the States to do…ANYTHING. Who created WHOM? The States created the federal government to tend to their common business. The feds are supposed to be subservient to the States. As far as I’m concerned, the States can do what they wish as long as they aren’t usurpong the powers they granted the feds. This is why I am so passionately for the repeal of the Seventeenth Amendment to the Constitution. The Progressives pushed it through as a move to give more power to the voters, but… Read more »

If we have to take tests for work these free loaders need to take tests for welfare no free lunches and living off the government. Let’s see how many welfare takers are actually honest the rest need to work no more Obama looking the other way. ThosE days are OVER!

Uh, you might want to take another look at unemployment insurance. Your employer pays it in whether you ever collect it or not. Unemployment insurance is far from being “welfare,”

I didn’t see anywhere in his post where he mentioned unemployment

This would definitely be a concern. As well as how medical marijuana patients fit in.

Just Plain Common Sense- All of us in Aviation and the Offshore Oil Industry have to pass drug test on a regular basis and Random basis as a precurser to keeping our jobs! If you are taking my money for free you should do NO less! REMEMBER we have only won the Battle NOT THE WAR!!

Common sense

Many states have proven that it is too costly to drug test. It costs more than it saves in the results. It’s just a ‘feel good’ idea for people who don’t understand math. I am glad to see Congress doing something though.

now apply this to all levels of government. annually.

There are many of us who have, over the years, had to pass Drug Tests, in order to Get/Keep our job. Those on Welfare should be required to abide by the same standard!

If they have money for crack, weed and beer, they don’t need help getting money to live on. Big screen TVs,chrome rims on their Continental aren’t rights either.

Anyone getting Freedies from the Govenment should be Drug Tested. And since Congress does absolutely nothing for their high Salary and Freebie Benefits they should be Drug Tested.
