The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.John 10:10
In this Scripture, the “thief” is Satan. And what does he do? He steals, kills, and destroys. Be watchful and on guard.
His plan is to isolate you first from the plan God has for you and the people in your life. If something horrible happens, it’s our human nature to want to retreat and wallow in self-pity. The next step in the devil’s plan is to insulate you. This means he wants to keep you enslaved to your less-than-ideal situation. He wants to keep you away from anyone or anything that would feed your spirit – for example, the Church. The last and most terrible part of Satan’s plan is to eliminate you. This can be literal or figurative. To eliminate one’s self is to turn away from God completely, and that’s exactly what Satan wants you to do. This is not living abundantly; this is not God’s plan for your life.
Sweet Freedom in ActionIf you’ve gone through something hard and you feel yourself pulling away (isolating) from the Body of Christ, stop and reevaluate. Reach out to a church and get help. Start living the life God intends for you – one that is abundant.
