SWEET FREEDOM DAILY DEVOTIONAL: People Like That

For the secret power of lawlessness is already at work; but the one who now holds it back will continue to do so till he is taken out of the way.
2 Thessalonians 2:7

Our culture may say people like you and me – Christians – are the problem with this world. But God actually restrains evil through believers.

Christians have acted throughout history as promoters of human rights. It was Christians in the Roman Empire who worked to ban infanticide, gladiatorial combats, and other cruelties. Christians outlawed human sacrifices and were the moral force behind the abolition of slavery, first in Europe in the Middle Ages and then against the later slave trade. Many of our laws that defend human rights come from our Christian heritage.

Sweet Freedom in Action
Today, speak up unintimidated to remind others and yourself that God always uses Christians to affect the culture in large ways and small, and prepare yourself for His plan to use you. Refuse to be marginalized.
