Therefore honor God with your bodies.
1 Corinthians 6:20
Did you know scientists have discovered a food that actually reduces a woman’s drive to exercise by 90 percent?
Her wedding cake.
Hey, it doesn’t do wonders for men either.
That’s a joke, but behind it is the truth that a lot of people give up their dedication to fitness after they get married. But that’s unfair to your spouse – you should both want to be healthy for each other. It’s also unfair to your children. You need to set a good example, and they need you to be healthy.
A lot of people are adopting a simple, non-faddish, back-to-nature “caveman” diet – or, as I see it, eating what God created us to eat; I think of Adam and Eve eating paleo.
Personally, I try to adhere to a low-carbohydrate, ketonic way of life – as often as possible eating foods we harvest ourselves. High protein, good fats, low processed carbs – this lets a body turn the organic protein (that we usually have to hunt or catch first!) and natural fats into consistent and reliable energy. This way you avoid blood-sugar spikes and energy dips caused by the processed, high-carb, “low-fat” foods of the standard American diet (“SAD”). I’m not a doctor or a dictator so I would never tell you what to eat. I can only tell you what works for me, many other people, and I do believe Adam and Eve. And this way of life leaves room for the occasional homemade cinnabun!
