Thanks be to God for his indescribable gift!
2 Corinthians 9:15
“Thank God!” we might whisper in relief when a situation turns for the better. “Praise the Lord!” is exclaimed after a thankful outcome. But praise isn’t just for the good times; it’s for every time. As they say in the marriage ceremony: “For richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health.”
Thessalonians 5:18 teaches, “Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” That means when something doesn’t go our way, we should still be grateful.
How can we do that? The key lies in our fundamental appreciation of the sovereignty of God. He is our Father and He’s got the whole world in His hands. In other words, all will eventually be well – for nothing can keep us from our ultimate home in God.
