President Trump tweeted a response to news that the FBI sat on information tying the Clinton Foundation to a Russian bribery scheme on Thursday, accusing the “fake media” of not covering the story, per Fox News.
“Uranium deal to Russia, with Clinton help and Obama administration knowledge, is the biggest story that fake media doesn’t want to follow,” he tweeted.

Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-IA) promised publicly to get to the bottom of the story on Wednesday, following reports that the FBI had evidence from as far back as 2009 that Russian operatives had been engaging in a bribery scheme “to expand Moscow’s energy footprint in the U.S.”—but the Obama administration approved the uranium deal anyway.
Trump on Thursday also took another Twitter swipe at the firm behind the controversial anti-Trump dossier, after Fusion GPS officials took the Fifth during an appearance on Capitol Hill on Wednesday.
“Workers of firm involved with the discredited and Fake Dossier take the 5th. Who paid for it, Russia, the FBI or the Dems (or all)?” he wrote.
The president and his allies occasionally have cited both the dossier – a salacious document whose origin is shrouded in mystery, but linked to a company that allegedly did business with Russian figures – and the uranium deal to counter allegations of Trump-Russia collusion, effectively arguing Democrats have links to Moscow, too.
