Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters….
Colossians 3:23

I imagine some alien visiting earth knowing nothing about Christians. He’d turn on the TV or catch a movie and maybe come away thinking Christians are one boring, judgmental, and mean earthly tribe.

Hollywood loves to depict believers as dull, dreary, and villainous.

But contrast this image with biblical characters, and a very different picture of what God intends for his people emerges. His characters are brave and bold! They’re warriors! Wise and sharp and fit, they always led culture, not bending to it.

The trick is to be the person God meant us to be. He gave us all different talents and passions. There is no one model for Christian discipleship. As Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. said: “Set yourself earnestly to discover what you are made to do, then give yourself passionately to the doing of it.”

Sweet Freedom in Action
Today, realize that the best example you can give others of what it means to be a Christian is to look into yourself, recognize what your gifts are, and then develop them for the glory of God.
