Hillary Clinton finally released a statement on personal friend and political donor Harvey Weinstein, who was recently accused in a NY Times article of settling eight sexual harassment cases, according to The Daily Caller. Clinton’s statement was a three-sentence tweet by longtime aide, Nick Merrill.
In the statement, Clinton says she was “shocked and appalled by the revelations about Harvey Weinstein”.

Former staff, members of the media, and other political personalities have been calling for a statement from Clinton since the story was published last week.
Weinstein reportedly donated to Clinton’s campaign, as well as to her legal fund in the nineties.
Many have also called for a statement from the Obamas, who hosted Weinstein at the White House more than thirteen times over the course of President Obama’s time in office.
