Chick-fil-A Leaves This Table Empty. The Reason Why Will Break Your Heart…

Orange County Deputy First Class Norm Lewis was a frequent customer of the University Boulevard Chick-fil-A in Orange County, FL. The motorcycle deputy passed on-duty, while working to hunt down a suspect in the murder of Master Sgt. Debra Clayton, a member of the Orlando PD.

Employees recall how he came into the location numerous times per week. Danielle Giaquinto, one staff member, said Chick-fil-A workers looked forward to his big hugs and bright smile.

So to pay tribute to their fallen friend, the Orange County Chick-fil-A location did something pretty special—they created a “Missing Man” table in memoriam of Lewis.

Giaquinto is still in disbelief at the loss, she said.

“He’d come in in his uniform, and I’d poke his sides to try to make sure there were no vulnerable spots. I wanted to make sure he was safe.”

“I’m not gonna be able to give him another hug.”

It’s never any less heartbreaking to hear stories like this one, but what a cool way to remember one of our fallen heroes.
