Mark the Houston Texans as yet another NFL team that has avoided hiring anti-American protester Colin Kaepernick as the team just signed a quarterback that hasn’t even played for six seasons instead of giving Kaepernick a shot.
Last week Texans rookie quarterback DeShaun Watson turned up injured and the team needed a new quarterback to replace him. But instead of turning to anti-American protester Colin Kaepernick, the team just went with Josh Johnson, a player who hasn’t even tossed a football in an NFL game since 2011.
The Texans apparently didn’t give a second’s thought to NBC analyst Tony Dungy’s demand that they sign the national anthem protest inventor.
As DownTrend.com notes, Dungy urged the team to sign Kaepernick:
“Sign Colin Kaepernick,” Dungy said. “You don’t have good quarterback play. When you have a mobile quarterback, your offense looks different. There is a mobile quarterback out there to get.”
But today the Texans announced that they signed Josh Johnson, instead.
The eyebrows are already raising among the left-wing sports media, too.
Here is how Sports Illustrated noted the signing:
While Colin Kaepernick remains unsigned, Houston just got a QB who hasn’t thrown a regular-season pass in six years https://t.co/LnbcaIKKM1

Amusingly, Johnson did play for San Francisco (in 2014, though he didn’t get in a game) so, the Texans DID hire a former San Francisco 49er quarterback… it just wasn’t Kaepernick.
This is the second time the team took a pass on Colin, too. The Texans dissed Kaepernick last week, as well, signing Matt McGloin.
So far, Kaepernick has missed a slot with a long list of teams that had been looking for back up quarterbacks this season and it is about impossible, now, to agree with claims that teams are avoiding the player only because he doesn’t fit their needs.
Kaepernick is not a standout quarterback, but by any measure he would have been a more obvious choice than Josh Johnson! Clearly, teams are avoiding Kaepernick because they fear he will bring nothing but trouble to their locker rooms.
But it is easy to see how every team in the league would feel that way. Not only is Colin Kaepernick single-handedly responsible for destroying the NFL’s TV ratings with the avalanche of anti-American protests that he is responsible for creating, but he is still at it by filing union grievances against the league charging that the owners are “colluding” to keep him off the field.
After spending the whole of the 2016 season protesting against the United States, Kaepernick insisted that once he turned free agent he would end his protests. But no one really believes that.
After all, Kaepernick didn’t just quietly kneel in protest during the 2016 season. He also spent hours and hours speaking out against the US., wearing socks that portrayed cops as “pigs,” said the U.S.A. was “never great,” and wore shirts celebrating evil communist dictators.
So, why the heck would any NFL team want to bring all that hate into their locker rooms? What sense would it make to sign this guy knowing full well Kaepernick intends to bring his entire circus of anti-Americanism to their city? I sure as heck wouldn’t hire such a person. Would you?
