Following Reports Of New NFL Rule, Charlie Kirk Slams League For ‘Kowtowing’ To Protesters

New reports Wednesday said that the NFL is considering a rule that would confine teams to locker rooms during the National Anthem, according to Fox News Insider.

The news comes after the league and sports networks have suffered a significant drop in viewership as fans have boycotted games over protests, which many have seen as a snub to veterans and the nation.

Charlie Kirk of Turning Point USA appeared on “America’s Newsroom” and slammed the league for “kowtowing” to protesters.

Kirk said that he, like millions of other Americans, has stopped watching the NFL due to some players and teams refusing to stand for “The Star-Spangled Banner.”

“I’ve got better uses of my time than to honor a league that tolerates this blatant anti-Americanism,” Kirk said, arguing the NFL shouldn’t kowtow to the radical influences within the league.

Communications Director to former New Jersey Gov. Jon Corzine weighed in, saying the NFL is trying to find a balance between respecting players’ rights and respecting the wishes of fans.

Sigmund added that the owners don’t need Trump’s input, referring to him as the “tweeter-in-chief.”

Kirk said players have a right to protest, but that does not mean it’s not “foolish,” “anti-American” and bad for the league’s bottom line.

“They are not showing respect, they are not showing reverence for the sacrifice of the veteran community and people that gave the ultimate sacrifice,” Kirk said. “And you can’t stand for two-and-a-half minutes during a song that articulates the greatest country in the history of the world?”
