Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee responded to a media craze over Sarah Huckabee Sanders’ tweet of a pecan pie, saying that his daughter has “been making that pie for years,” according to BizPacReview.

“Here’s the warning that I would issue,” he continued. “Don’t ever and I mean don’t ever mess with a Southern woman and her homemade pies. It is as dangerous as when you hear a Southern woman begin her sentence with ‘bless your heart.’ It means you’re about to be gutted like a deer and just don’t know it.”

Huckabee’s comments were made in response to a tweet by CNN analyst April Ryan, who joked over the weekend that Sanders’ tweet of her homemade pecan pie was “fake news.”
