Where is the one who has been born king of the Jews? We saw his star when it rose and have come to worship him.
Matthew 2:2

America is at a crossroads. The values of our nation are hanging in the balance. The culture is proclaiming that up is down and down is up. Traditional American values are frequently mocked in the public square. Even many of our politicians in Washington reject the ultimate truth upon which our Founders built this great nation.

In the midst of such tumultuous times, it is even more important than ever that we study the story of the magi this Christmas. The Wise Men from the East received a message of Jesus’s birth. They put aside everything else in their lives to find the Messiah and worship Him. They trekked to Bethlehem in search of answers. There, they found Jesus. They honored Him.

The story of the Wise Men reminds us that it’s wise to go after Him, to seek Him, to pursue knowledge of Him. This is even more imperative as our culture turns from the Truth.

Sweet Freedom in Action
This Christmas let’s reread Matthew 2 and choose to be like the Wise Men. Make your own “trek to Bethlehem” by putting Him before everything else in your life. May this season give you a glimpse of the faith that compelled the wisest men 2000 years ago…and may we all be given great wisdom as well!
