The NY Times Was Just DUPED By A Twitter Troll, Published Fake News On Michael Flynn

The NY Times, in a rush to cover Michael Flynn’s resignation as President Trump’s National Security Advisor, was duped by a fake Twitter account impersonating Flynn, per The Washington Examiner.

Flynn resigned late Monday. In the paper’s coverage, the NY Times cited two tweets by the fake Flynn account.

The NY Times has since posted a correction.

“Because of an editing error, an earlier version quoted three posts from an unverified Twitter account,” the Times wrote.

    Really?

    Sounds more like the same non compus goofus that informs everything political that comes spewing out of the old gray lady.

  2. The NYT can’t help itself, “fake news” just makes it’s way into print by errors, right?

  3. The Grey Lady on the pot making news—–PLOP PLOP, only a fool publishes BEFORE confirming the source/truth. Our media is too quick to ‘report what THEY THINK not what they know, TRUMP HATERS UNITED ‘THU’= NYT, MSNBC, CNN!!

  4. Correction: “OK, We didn’t make an “editing error” – in our zeal to rush to report ANYTHING negative about Trump we were too busy salivating over this fake tweet to check to see if it was real- we regret the error”

  6. While I agree that the NYT should have checked the authenticity of the tweets, this is the world we live in now. Everyone wants to be first b/c everyone is checking their news feed every five mins.
    In the short time this website has been up, it has fallen for at least one fake news story
