Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.
Who doesn’t love the old gospel song “I Surrender All”? Though maybe many of us would prefer to sing, “I surrender some.” Following Jesus is not complicated, but it does have its requirements…everything.
All Christians are called to sacrifice. Jesus denied Himself to the point of death! God takes all of our old life and makes it new.
People who suffer through struggles with, say, infidelity or inappropriate emotional attraction outside their marriage don’t have a less demanding version of the Gospel. We’re all in this boat together.
Married men who long for their secretary have to surrender that longing to God. Married women attracted to their kettlebell coach must resist that temptation. Unmarried couples, the Bible says, should resist their physical desire for each other outside of marriage. This teaching applies to those who have same-sex attraction too. All are invited to give that desire to God.
The requirements of following Jesus apply equally to everyone.

Today, try to stop seeing your own personal sin as “less than” another person’s just because you’re more comfortable with it. That means you’re used to it – and that’s not good.
