GOP Senator BETRAYS Trump And Backs Down From Major Promise…

Donald Trump has made it clear that he will be a pro-life president and Republicans in Congress appear to be on the same page.

Republicans in Congress are expected to get a lot of things done over the next few years and two top priorities are repealing Obamacare and defunding Planned Parenthood.

Apparently, one Republican senator is on board for one of those things and not the other.

Alaska Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) says she will not vote with fellow Republicans for an Obamacare repeal bill that defunds Planned Parenthood.

“The Affordable Care Act has failed in so many ways, but there are elements within it that deserve to be saved,” Murkowski said, according to CBS affiliate KTVA.

As she addressed the Alaska state legislature Wednesday, the Republican senator said Obamacare has allowed for the expansion of Medicaid and the opportunity for more than 27,000 Alaskan citizens to obtain health insurance coverage.

Definitely a disappointing revelation.

  3. just remember representatives represent ALL the people in their jurisdiction, not just the ones who agree with them. Alaska is becoming more and more liberal so she has to represent those people as well.

      No, a representative runs on a certain platform and gets elected by winning more votes than the competition, which means the majority of voters in that jurisdiction want that platform to represent them.

      To repeat: It is IMPOSSIBLE to represent the wishes of ALL the people in a jurisdiction.

  4. I’m confused. The Medicaid expansion doesn’t have to be effected if the Fed’s block grant the money back to the states and it’s my understanding that the ‘defunding’ of Planned Parenthood was going to be shifting the funds to women’s health clinics that provide more women’s healthcare services than JUST abortion related services. There are only 4 Planned parenthood clinics in Alaska, but This crazy lady is just pandering to try to straddle the fence. She’s only interested in ‘optics’ not what’s best for the women of Alaska or the nation.

  5. With no more excuses.. the republican rats are shown in the daylight. They never intended to repeal anything, they never intended to win the presidency, they never intended to be able to actually pass any legislation, it’s all been talk to get elected. They believe none of it… that’s fine.. we have elections every 2 years. We will find out the Trump loyalists from the RINOS.. and purge them till we get what we want. This is a civilized revolution.. and it will take all 8 years.

  8. She is a RINO. Obamacare fails because it makes the state the arbitor and provider of health care. Thats socialism. You can’t have it both ways, and government is not in charge of, nor responsible for peoples health care on any level. Not only is she worng, she fails to understand basic principles of governance in the US.

  12. I see a trend. Now people will pile on and call this sexist, but so far the women RINO’s seem to almost outnumber the male RINO’s. You have Alaska, Maine and others I can’t remember.

After all, I know it was my choice to read, but I actually thought youd have something interesting to express.
