President Trump skipped out on Oscars festivities for another, more important event: the National Governor’s Association ball in Washington.
Jimmy Kimmel had tweeted at the President as part of his schtick for the night, enquiring about where Trump might be and whether or not he was watching (per BizPacReview).

The president “missed” out on a passionate speech from Oscar winner Viola Davis, wherein she boasted that actors “are the only profession that celebrates what it means to live a life.”

On a night when much of America was honoring celebrities who play make-believe heroes in films, the president preferred the company of those who provide real heroism for their nation.
