When asked about claims that the British might have helped Obama wiretap Trump, the President gestured to the Chancellor of Germany, Angela Merkel, and said, “at least we have something in common, perhaps,” via ABC.
The media went nuts over this exchange, which occurred during Trump’s press conference with Merkel during her White House visit on Friday.

“We said nothing,” Trump said in reference to the claims about GCHQ. “All we did was quote a certain very talented legal mind who was the one responsible for that on television. I didn’t make an opinion on it. That was a statement made by a very talented lawyer on Fox.”
“So you shouldn’t be talking to me, you should be talking to Fox,” he added.
WH Press Secretary Sean Spicer acknowledged Judge Napolitano’s comments during his press briefing on Thursday. He followed up on Friday morning, saying the White House would not repeat those accusations again.
