WASHINGTON, DC - MARCH 20: Judge Neil Gorsuch appears surprised by the attention he is paid during the first day of his Supreme Court confirmation hearing before the Senate Judiciary Committee in the Hart Senate Office Building on Capitol Hill March 20, 2017 in Washington, DC. During his confirmation hearings Monday afternoon, Judge Neil Gorsuch shared a brief story about late SCOTUS Justice Antonin Scalia that had the whole room smiling.

Gorsuch described Scalia as “a mentor.” He said he “reminded us that words matter.”

He then went on to talk about fishing trips he took with Scalia.
