The man responsible for the attack in London yesterday is being identified as Khalid Masood.

After hitting several people with a rented SUV and later stabbing an unarmed police officer, Masood was shot by police.

Per Daily Mail:

The 52-year-old ‘lone-wolf’ attacker, who was living in the Birmingham area, has a series of convictions for assault and other crimes but police insist there was no intelligence suggesting he was about to unleash a terror attack.

Kent-born Masood has never been convicted of terror offences, although Theresa May revealed this morning that he had been on MI5’s radar a number of years ago.

Masood, born just southeast of London, seems to have a history of crime:

A Scotland Yard spokesman said this afternoon: ‘Masood was also known by a number of aliases. He was not the subject of any current investigations and there was no prior intelligence about his intent to mount a terrorist attack.

‘However, he was known to police and has a range of previous convictions for assaults, including GBH, possession of offensive weapons and public order offences.

‘His first conviction was in November 1983 for criminal damage and his last conviction was in December 2003 for possession of a knife. He has not been convicted for any terrorism offences.’

Prime Minister Theresa May adds that intelligence agencies have previously investigated Masood:

Giving details of the attacker’s background in Parliament today, Prime Minister Theresa May said: ‘The man was British-born and that – some years ago – he was once investigated in relation to concerns about violent extremism. He was a peripheral figure.

‘The case is historic – he was not part of the current intelligence picture. There was no prior intelligence of his intent – or of the plot. Intensive investigations continue.’

  1. Christians have not been mass murdering for Jesus.
    Nor Jews for Zion.
Atheists don’t mass murder for ‘No God’.

The commonality of all the terrorists is Islam.
    No Islam. No Terror.

      • Really. Check the news.

        Most importantly:
Christianity, Buddhism, etc., even the atheists I know, teach non-violence.
If someone says they are murdering innocents for Buddha, they are going against Buddhist teaching.
Killing innocents (infidels) is part of Islamic doctrine.

          • While people of all faiths and backgrounds commit acts of violence, Islam is unique among world religions in having a developed doctrine, theology and legal system mandating warfare against unbelievers.

Unless and until that is confronted, Muslims will continue to commit acts of violence against non-Muslims, including Christians.

          • Check the news today. Research through time.

            Another important point is:
If Jews, Hindus, etc., perform acts of violence, the violence is contrary to their religion.
Muslims are performing acts of violence in their God’s name, consistent with their religion.
            That is Islam.

          • You know that Wikipedia is not fact. right?
Also, you might want to use information from this century because we live in this century.

          • That’s true Wikipedia is not fact, necessarily. But 99.99% of the time it is a great source for an aggregate of information and sources. Also the links I’ve posted do include reputable sources at the bottom and contain verifiable and accepted truths.

        • After the American Civil War of 1861–1865, former Confederates and members of the Democratic Party organized the Protestant-led Ku Klux Klan (KKK) organization and began engaging in arson, beatings, destruction of property, lynching, murder, rape, tar-and-feathering, whipping and intimidation via such means as cross burning. They targeted African Americans, Jews, Catholics, and other social or ethnic minorities.
Vehemently anti-Catholic, Klan members had an explicitly Protestant Christian terrorist ideology, basing their beliefs in part on a “religious foundation” in Protestant Christianity. The goals of the KKK included, from an early time onward, an intent to “reestablish Protestant Christian values in America by any means possible”, and they believed that “Jesus was the first Klansman.”Although members of the KKK swear to uphold Christian morality, virtually every Christian denomination has officially denounced the KKK. From 1915 onward, Klansmen conducted cross-burnings not only to intimidate targets, but also to demonstrate their respect and reverence for Jesus Christ, and the ritual of lighting crosses was steeped in Christian symbolism, including prayer and hymn singing. Within Christianity the Klan directed its hostilities against Catholics. Modern Klan organizations remain associated with acts of domestic terrorism in the United States.

          • The KKK, BLM, and other racists are bad and not Christian.
Islam is the religion that calls for murdering innocents.

          • They do it in the name of Christianity. Almost all Muslims condemn violence. Then there are those “Muslims” who do it in the name of Christianity.

          • Facts:

All over the news I keep hearing about those Hindu immigrants raping….

All over the news I keep hearing about those atheist groups murdering in the name of ‘No God’….
            No. I don’t hear that.

All over the news I keep hearing about those Christians killing homosexuals just because they are homosexuals….
No. I don’t hear that either.

But I do hear about the world’s most violent bigots raping women and children, murdering non-Moslems, and killing homosexuals in the name of Allah.

          • And Christians have risen up en masse to condemn the actions of KKK and other white supremacy groups.
Why doesn’t the Islamic world stand up and condemn the actions of the few Islamic extremists?

          • They do. Millions of Muslims condemn their actions. Prominent Muslim celebrities and scholars have condemned these acts of being entirely un-Muslim, and have been done through a facade of religion.

        • The November 2015 Colorado Springs Planned Parenthood shooting, in which three were killed and nine injured, was described as “a form of terrorism” by Colorado Governor John Hickenlooper. The gunman, Robert Lewis Dear, was described as a “delusional” man who had written on a cannabis internet forum that “sinners” would “burn in hell” during the end times, and had also written about smoking marijuana and propositioned women for sex. He had praised the Army of God, saying that attacks on abortion clinics are “God’s work.” Deer’s ex-wife said he had put glue on a lock of a Planned Parenthood clinic, and in court documents for their divorce she said “He claims to be a Christian and is extremely evangelistic, but does not follow the Bible in his actions. He says that as long as he believes he will be saved, he can do whatever he pleases. He is obsessed with the world coming to an end.”

          • Once again,

While people of all faiths and backgrounds commit acts of violence, Islam is unique among world religions in having a developed doctrine, theology and legal system mandating warfare against unbelievers.
Unless and until that is confronted, Muslims will continue to commit acts of violence against non-Muslims, including Christians.

          • You could say that for any such religion or violent act committed in the name of Christianity, or any religion.

  2. The same type scenario is happening in Germany where they see a LOT of radicalized muslims
two, and even three, generations down.

“Extreme vetting” will not keep us safe from these terrorists. The REASON they become radicalized is because they become more religious. Following the koran more closely.

Without the koran and it’s teachings there would not be this problem. Period.

So. What to do??? WHO will have the political guts, ballz and will?? Geert Wilders have already
suggested this… (His party made a 33% GAIN in the last election!!)

Miami-Dade county (VERY liberal!) has banned ALL pit bulls/pit bull mixes. Does that mean all pit bulls are bad? No, they are not. Just means it is not worth the risk.

In another 6 months things will be much different as Europe is going to ERUPT this spring/summer with muslim violence.

The froggie will be boiled WAY too fast. At least one can hope….

  3. Thanks for this post Lawrence.

However, the suggestion in the Daily Mail report that this individual was a “lone wolf” is frankly nonsense, especially with the news that the authorities arrested seven more people in Birmingham during raids over night.

When are the authorities going to accept that the problem lies with an Islamist ideology which preaches political violence? The problem is not ‘Islamophobia’ but rather with an ideology, which helps promote violence?

  4. Ahhh, I’ve got it! Here is Khalid Masood, Kahlid was born here in Great Britain, Kahlid is British. Here is Fluffy the cat, Fluffy was born in a horse barn, Fluffy is a horse.

  5. Well, what does “everyone immediately notice? Whatever it is, apparently I didn’t notice it. I hate these headlines that then lead to nothing.

  6. I don’t get the concept of an unarmed police officer outside of Mayberry. We are a long way from the days of Andy Taylor.
