SWEET FREEDOM DAILY DEVOTIONAL: The Old Testament And The Second Amendment

If a thief is caught breaking in at night and is struck a fatal blow, the defender is not guilty of bloodshed.
Exodus 22:2
You might have seen the bumper sticker that says, “When seconds count, police are only minutes away.” That statement is a simple truth, especially in rural America. Solely relying on others to protect you is an astoundingly unsafe, naive practice.
Liberals often act as though it’s sinful to arm oneself for protection, which is why, despite our Second Amendment right to keep and bear arms, they push relentlessly for ever more restrictions on gun ownership.
We’ve seen that Jesus ordered His disciples to arm themselves with swords. In the Old Testament, the justice of self-defense is taken for granted. Most Americans know this in their hearts, in their bones; they know that self-defense is a natural right. Don’t let confused liberals tell you otherwise.
God wants us to be protectors of the weak and innocent. To do that effectively you need to be ready; you need to be armed; and you need to know how to use a weapon to defend yourself and your loved ones.
Sweet Freedom in Action
Today, commit to supporting organizations and leaders who fight for our Second Amendment and oppose those who seek to destroy it.
