REALLY?! Look What Group Is Confusing EVERYONE With Its Anti-Trump Stance…

Washington Free Beacon reporter Alex Griswold tweeted a controversial excerpt from a recent Atlantic article about the Anne Frank Center’s shockingly anti-Trump lean on Monday morning.

The excerpt stated the Anne Frank Center no longer considers itself a “Jewish organization, nor a holocaust organization.”

Here’s the tweet:

He followed up:

The Atlantic’s article delves into the history of the organization, from its questionable start in the U.S. (was Otto Frank directly involved? Maybe, maybe not) to its recent apparent-transition from an educational organization to a politically-motivated one.

The organization recently made a significant number of staff changes and disbanded a board of Holocaust scholars that had long served as advisors soon after.

William Shulman, the president of the Association of Holocaust Organizations and emeritus professor of history at the City University of New York, was another adviser. He said the Anne Frank Center has been “inactive” in the association, which brings together all of the major Holocaust groups in America. The Anne Frank Center “[pays] their dues,” he said, “but rarely do we see anyone from the organization.” In general, the Anne Frank Center’s outspokenness is “an outlier,” he added. “There’s been universal distaste for doing this. … Our function is not to engage in politics. It’s to engage in Holocaust education, remembrance, and research. Anything that deviates from that damages our mission.”

Other indicators are mentioned in the article that point to the organization’s move toward a more political mission, such as changes in fundraising and staff hires with backgrounds in political organizing.
