Approaching his 100th day in office, President Trump reiterated another big campaign promise to reform the troubled Department of Veteran Affairs. Speaking at the National Rifle Association’s annual meeting on Friday, Donald Trump said they’re doing a “top job” reforming the VA, and that it is only the beginning.
From Fox News:
“People are seeing a big difference. We are working really hard at the VA,” Trump said. “It’s my honor. I’ve been telling you we’re going to do it, and we’re doing it.”
The VA has been plagued in recent years by allegations of long wait times and poor patient care.
U.S. Secretary of Veterans Affairs David Shulkin joined Pete Hegseth on “Fox & Friends Weekend” today to discuss how much has changed at the VA and what changes are coming next.
President Trump tweeted the same message Friday morning as well:
We are making tremendous progress with the V. A. There has never been so much done so quickly, and we have just started. We love our VETS!
