JUST IN: Hours Before Guam Threat, U.S. Air Force Conducted Strategic Missions With South Korea And Japan

KOREAN PENINSULA, SOUTH KOREA - JULY 08: In this handout photo released by the South Korean Defense Ministry, U.S. Air Force B-1B Lancer bombers (R and top from L) fly with South Korean jets over the Korean Peninsula during a South Korea-U.S. joint live fire drill on July 8, 2017 in Korean Peninsula, South Korea. The U.S. said that it will use military force if needed to stop North Korea's nuclear missile program after North Korea fired an intercontinental ballistic missile on Tuesday into Japanese waters. The latest launch have drawn strong criticism from the U.S. as experts believe the ICBM has the range to reach the U.S. states of Alaska and Hawaii and perhaps the U.S. Pacific Northwest. Mere hours before North Korea announced plans for a potential airstrike on Guam, “two U.S Air Force B-1B bombers, under the command of the U.S. Pacific Air Forces, joined counterparts from South Korea and Japan in strategic bilateral missions,” according to Fox News.

“How we train is how we fight,” one 37th EBS B-1 pilot said.

“The more we interface with our allies, the better prepared we are to fight tonight,” he continued.

Check it out:

Aircrews practiced intercept and formation training, giving them an opportunity to improve their combined capabilities and tactical skills while augmenting relations between the long-standing allies in the Indo-Asia-Pacific region.

And the timing couldn’t have been more perfect.

As crews conducted their 10-hour mission, President Trump declared North Korea’s hostility would be met with “fire and fury.”

North Korean officials responded by threatening an “enveloping fire” around Guam—in particular, Anderson Air Force base.

  3. Thank you for the sensible critique. Me and my neighbor were just preparing to do some research about this. We got a grab a book from our area library but I think I learned more from this post. I’m very glad to see such magnificent information being shared freely out there.
