Just Now: 1 Officer Has Been Killed, 2 Other Officers Shot In Colorado Springs

It it being reported that three law enforcement officers were shot in what is being described as a “critical incident.”

According to reports, the shooting incident includes multiple suspects and started as a stolen vehicle investigation.

“Three officers, two El Paso County Sheriff’s deputies and a Colorado Springs Police officer, have been shot in Colorado Springs,” reports Denver CBS.

CBS4 has learned a deputy has died.

This is happening near N. Murray Boulevard and Galley Road. A number of suspects have also been shot. Police say all suspects have been accounted for.

This reportedly started as a stolen vehicle investigation.

Law enforcement asking public to avoid area.

Sources confirm an El Paso County deputy was shot and killed in some sort of shootout with suspects Monday afternoon.

Police are asking people to avoid the area of North Murray Boulevard and Galley in Colorado Springs.


In addition to the slain deputy, the same sources tell 11 News at least two other officers were shot and injured and the suspects are likely down. Police confirmed all suspects are accounted for.

Both the Colorado Springs Police Department and the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office will be responding to “emergent and in progress” calls.
