BREAKING: Trump Admin Sends CLEAR Message With New Iranian Sanctions

In a continued effort to pressure Iran, the Trump administration has announced a new set of economic sanctions.

On Wednesday, the U.S. Treasury Department announced additional sanctions on six Iranian individuals and three entities, including the infamous Evin prison.

Here’s more, per Reuters:

The United States on Wednesday imposed sanctions on six Iranians and three Iran-based entities, including Tehran’s Evin prison.

The sanctions, announced by the U.S. Treasury on its website, also targeted the group Ansar-e Hezbollah and the Hanista Programing Group.

The new additions will join the Office of Foreign Assets Control’s (OFAC) Specially Designated Nationals (SDN) list.

As the Hill reports, the country of India is not planning to recognize sanctions imposed on Iran by the United States:

India’s foreign minister said Monday that her nation will follow sanctions imposed by the United Nations but not ones leveled by individual countries, including those the U.S. is restoring on Iran, Reuters reported.

“India follows only U.N. sanctions, and not unilateral sanctions by any country,” Sushma Swaraj said at a news conference.

Earlier this month, President Trump withdrew the U.S. from the Iranian nuclear deal and ordered sanctions against Tehran that were suspended by the agreement be reimposed.

Iran, one of India’s top oil suppliers, has strong and long-standing economic and political ties with India, Reuters noted.

As Free Beacon similarly reports, Iran is making moves to deal with United States allies, despite the sanctions:

Iranian officials are plotting with U.S. allies across the globe to develop a series of measures meant to counter new sanctions by the Trump administration following its abandonment of the landmark nuclear deal, setting up a global economic showdown between America and its allies over their future business dealings with the Islamic Republic.

Iranian leaders disclosed on Tuesday that they had recently held high-level meetings with European Union nations and leaders in India and Thailand to explore options for skirting new U.S. sanctions.

Iran’s efforts and the warm reception it is receiving from many nations has roiled leaders on Capitol Hill, where some lawmakers are already moving to confront these countries and ensure they face harsh repercussions for any breach of U.S. sanction law.

Per the Treasury Department, the sanctioned Iranian individuals and entities are as follows:
