CNN Pushes Piece Accusing ANOTHER Network Of ‘Massive Breach Of Journalistic Integrity’

“Pot, meet kettle,” a user responded to CNN after they reported a piece concerning one of their competitor’s “journalistic integrity.”

In a tweet, CNN writes how an NBC News producer left the network and is speaking out about how his former employer handled the Harvey Weinstein coverage.

The tweet read: “A veteran NBC News producer who worked with Ronan Farrow on Farrow’s explosive story on Harvey Weinstein has left the network and is speaking out, calling the network’s decision not to make the story public ‘a massive breach of journalistic integrity.'”

But… it’s CNN.

The CNN report cites Rich McHugh, who according to the report recently left NBC News’ investigative unit. According to McHugh, the decision to kill the Ronan Farrow story came from “the highest levels of NBC. That was unethical.”

“At a critical juncture in our reporting on Harvey Weinstein, as we were about to interview a woman with a credible allegation of rape against him, I was told not to do the interview and ordered to stand down, thus effectively killing the story,” McHugh continued.

CNN tacked on later a comment from an NBC News spokesperson denying that they ever tried to kill the story.

“The assertion that NBC News tried to kill the Weinstein story while Ronan Farrow was at NBC News, or even more ludicrously, after he left NBC News, is an outright lie,” the spokesperson said, via CNN.
