Does This Surprise You? Here’s How Much Hillary Will Be Paying Her Interns In NYC

Former presidential nominee Hillary Clinton has put the word out that she is hiring interns for the Fall season.

But, after years of saying the minimum wage ought to be raised, it is being reported Clinton will not be paying the interns in her New York City office at all.

A very “do what I say, not what I do” scenario.

Check it out, from the Daily Caller:

Hillary Clinton is hiring a batch of unpaid interns for the fall to work in her New York City office, according to documents obtained by The Daily Caller News Foundation.

Applications are currently being accepted on a rolling basis and will “run from September to mid-December.” The internship requires “a minimum of three days per week,” and undergrads “of all majors are encouraged to apply.”

While the amount of hours per day aren’t specified, the “internship is unpaid.”

The interns will be required to complete ordinary intern tasks, albeit without pay, in one of America’s most expensive cities.

“Interns will provide support to our staff, assisting our work on a wide range of projects. Work will include but will not be limited to: compiling press clips, monitoring social media, conducting research, drafting correspondence, and assisting with office management,” the job description reads, per the Daily Caller.

The New York City Clinton office is expecting candidates to have “a high level of professionalism and discretion,” “strong research and writing skills,” “the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team,” “strong interpersonal communication skills,” “a diligent work ethic and a sense of conscientiousness,” as well as “enthusiasm, dedication, and a positive attitude.”

Applicants looking to be compensated in another capacity may be out of luck: “The job posting does not offer any alternative ways of compensation like school credit or a stipend,” the report reads.

Here’s more, from Sputnik News:

Clinton, who raised over $1.4 billionduring the 2016 election cycle, including over $200 million from Super PACs, faced criticism back then for offering interns “free coffee”and “the chance to make history” instead of pay. During the Democratic Party primaries, Clinton contender Bernie Sanders paid his campaign interns $10.10 an hour.

Upon hearing about the positions, the internet vented its anger on Twitter, with users calling the Clintons’ hiring practices “shameful” and suggesting that the internships were evidence of hypocrisy on the part of the Democrats, who have talked a great deal about decent, well-paid job opportunities for young people during elections.

Some people online are critical of Clinton over the decision not to pay interns in her office:
