Taco Bell Employee Refuses To Serve English-Speaking Customer — Immediately Faces Consequences

A Florida woman was recently refused service at a local Taco Bell because she only spoke English. A video of the incident was posted to social media and quickly went viral.

In the video, customer Alexandria Montgomery rode up to a drive-thru window of a Taco Bell in Hialeah, Florida. The Spanish-speaking employee quickly seemed bothered by Montogomery’s lingual limitation and refused to allow her to place her order.

After the customer is refused, she then asked to speak with a manager, when she is refused again.

A video of an argument with a Taco Bell employee in Hialeah has unleashed a wave of indignation on social media.

The incident happened on Wednesday night, when Alexandria Montgomery was trying to place an order — in English — at a Taco Bell drive thru window at 785 East Ninth St. The employee refused to take her order because she wasn’t speaking Spanish.

In the video posted on Thursday night, the woman grows increasingly annoyed with her inability to communicate her order, prompting her to ask, “Do you have a manager here?”

Speaking Spanish, the employee replied flippantly, “She is in her house sleeping,” adding that there was no one else to take the order.


“Honey, I have a car behind you,” the employee says in Spanish and closes the window. “Can you move please? I have an order behind you. There is no one who speaks English.”

“This is Hialeah, I’m sorry,” the female employee said in Spanish, even going as far to threaten calling the police.

According to the report, Montgomery uploaded the video to social media where it quickly went viral. “Taco Bell in Hialeah racist asf,” she said. “This lady understood what I was saying but didn’t want to take my order talking bout she don’t speak English.”

It is not a far stretch to say the woman in the window probably has at least some understanding of the English language as she answered and responded to Montgomery very quickly. She probably could have taken a simple order like a “number 6.”

The Taco Bell Corporation has apologized for the incident and said it “does not meet our customer service expectations,” Daily Wire reports.

“We have worked quickly to resolve with the customer to ensure this doesn’t happen again,” a spokesperson reportedly said.

A Spanish-speaking Taco Bell employee in Florida was let go by the fast food chain after a video circulating on social media this week showed her refusing to serve an English-speaking customer.

In a statement, Taco Bell said, “This individual no longer works for the brand.”

As Fox News also reports, many people who responded online showed support for Montgomery.

“Hialeah is still part of Florida and, as far as I remember, correct me if I’m wrong, Florida is part of the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, it’s a country where English is the language we speak. This is a shame for the Hispanic / Latino community,” a comment from social media read.

“I’m sorry here in America we speak English! You can speak any kind of language you want but if you want to live here, I’d expect you to at least learn our language,” another said, per the report.
