Kellyanne Conway Has Brutal Takedown Of Comey That You’ve Got To See

White House Counselor Kellyanne Conway did not hold back in a complete takedown of former FBI Director James Comey. She said Comey was self-obsessed and chose to utilize his time in the Trump administration to prepare for a book tour, rather than honor the integrity of his position atop the FBI.

Speaking on behalf of President Trump and the administration, Conway said, “The president is very confounded that this person is always able to divert the spotlight to him.” As ABC News reports, Conway also said, “He has a very deft way of making things about him.”

“He thought the wrong person would win,” Conway added, speaking of Comey’s recent admittance that he re-opened the Clinton investigation weeks ahead of election day.

Here’s more on Comey’s comments, per ABC News:

Stephanopoulos asked Comey in the interview that aired Sunday night, “At some level, wasn’t the decision to reveal influenced by your assumption that Hillary Clinton was going to win and your concern that she wins this comes out several weeks later and then that’s taken by her opponents as a sign that she’s an illegitimate president?”

The former FBI chief responded, “I don’t remember consciously thinking about that, but it must have been because I was operating in a world where Hillary Clinton was going to beat Donald Trump, and so I’m sure that it was a factor,” Comey said. “I don’t remember spelling it out, but it had to have been, that she’s going to be elected president and if I hide this from the American people, she’ll be illegitimate the moment she’s elected, the moment this comes out.”

Conway’s takedown of Comey did not stop there.

“When you have a private audience with the president, you should use that time to discuss major law enforcement, counter-terrorism issues of the day, instead is sounds like he’s taking notes for a future book,” the White House counselor added.

During Conway’s interview with ABC News’ George Stephanopoulos, she said in a tongue-in-cheek manner than Comey “swung an election.” After ABC News published the headline, “This guy swung an election,” Conway clarified what she meant over social media.

“This misleading headline should include an eye roll and question mark,” she said. “Point I made on 3 shows is that we are supposed to believe THIS guy swung an election? I don’t think so.”

The White House counsel later added that Trump won the election fairly:

Here’s more on Conway, per the Daily Beast:

In an interview with Good Morning America Monday, senior White House adviser Kellyanne Conway turned heads when she said former FBI Director James Comey “swung an election” with the actions he took in 2016. The remarks appeared to undercut a main talking point pushed by Conway’s boss, President Donald Trump, that Hillary Clinton lost on her own incompetence as a candidate. And moments after the interview aired, Conway told The Daily Beast that she was being tongue-in-cheek. “I rolled my eyes and said ‘Really, this guy swung an election?’ It was sarcastic,” she said. Elsewhere in the interview, Conway accused Comey of being motivated by politics and love of power. She said he “struggled to answer basic questions and he looked a little shaky” in the 20/20 interview pegged to his new book, A Higher Loyalty.
