GOP Lawmaker Has PERFECT Response To Maxine Waters’ Call For Harassment

Speaking to a rally in Los Angeles, Democrat Congresswoman Maxine Waters encouraged her supporters to harass Trump administration officials whenever they are seen in public.

The remarks followed news stories of White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders being kicked out of a restaurant over her political affiliation and were quickly criticized by people on both sides of the aisle.

Republican Congressman Andy Biggs had a particularly interesting response to her comments when he called for her resignation.

As Fox News reports, Biggs’ measure would require the congresswoman to apologize to the Trump administration for “endangering their lives and sowing seeds of discord,” resign from Congress and release a public statement discouraging harassment and violence as a form of protest.

The Republican congressman cautioned that the remarks of his Democrat colleague could “directly and unnecessarily lead to public unrest, physical violence, and physical injury.”

According to a report from the Hill, Biggs’ proposal has the support of five members of Congress. Here’s more:

“So we just introduced it, we have some co-sponsors, but what she did was to basically incite people to come after and attack members of the president’s cabinet,” Biggs told The Hill. “And also spread that out to more people.”

The measure calls on the congresswoman to resign, issue a formal apology to administration officials “for endangering their lives and sowing seeds of discord” and release a statement that neither harassment nor violence is an appropriate form of protest.

During the LA rally, Waters called on her supporters to publically shame and harass Trump administration officials.

“If you see anybody from that Cabinet in a restaurant, in a department store, at a gasoline station, you get out and you create a crowd and you push back on them, and you tell them they’re not welcome anymore, anywhere,” Waters said, as Fox News reports. During a segment on MSNBC, the congresswoman said protesters are “going to absolutely harass them.”

And:

Waters has since doubled-down on her comments at a rally, insisting that she didn’t suggest harming people. “Trump is the one who is creating lies,” Waters said during a Monday afternoon news conference. “Trying to have people believe that I talked about harming people. There’s nowhere in my statement, anytime, anyplace that we talked about harm.”

“I have nothing to do with the way people decide to protest. Protest is the democratic way as long as it is peaceful,” Waters added. “I believe in peaceful protest. It is guaranteed to you in a democracy.”

Democrat Senate Leader Chuck Schumer said calls for violence as a form of political protest was “not American.” Democrat House Leader Nancy Pelosi similarly condemned Waters’ comments during a social media post.

“In the crucial months ahead, we must strive to make America beautiful again,” Pelosi said in a tweet. “Trump’s daily lack of civility has provoked responses that are predictable but unacceptable. As we go forward, we must conduct elections in a way that achieves unity from sea to shining sea.”
