VIRAL: Trump Sends 100-Year-Old WWII Vet A Birthday Card, His Reaction Is Priceless

It is not every day that a person receives a birthday card from the president, a World War II veteran recently did and his heart-warming reaction is still making its way around the internet.

The veteran and his family wanted 100 birthday cards from people as he recently turned 100 years old. As Fox News Insider reports, he received well more than 100 – actually 49,900 more – when he received 50,000 birthday cards in the mail.

There was one however that stood out from the rest, “the big one.”

The letter was from none other than the White House and President Donald J. Trump.

From Fox News Insider:

Isaac “Ike” Fabela’s family said that his one wish was to receive 100 cards in celebration of the big event.

Fabela’s request was granted, and according to one of his daughters he received more than 50,000 cards and packages by his birthday on June 6.

A Facebook video from July 30, though, shows Fabela opening a package from “the big one,” the White House.

Fabela reacts with surprise as to who it was that sent the letter.

“Look at this,” the veteran said, holding the card up in disbelief before reading the contents of the card aloud in the emotional video.

The video has more than two million views at the time of publication.

“Happy 100th birthday. Congratulations on the wonderful occasion. We wish you and your loved ones a beautiful, glorious day,” the veteran read.

“We hope your heart is filled with joy, knowing you have experienced this country’s greatest blessing: the freedom and affection of family and friends over a long, well-lived life,” the letter said.

“Your American century is a proud mark of our nation’s remarkable story,” Fabela emotionally read. “We’re inspired by your continued strength and spirit as we join your family and friends in celebrating this tremendous milestone.”

“God bless you and Happy Birthday. With best wishes – Oh my god,” the veteran enthusiastically said as he finished reading the letter, before saying it was “he and his wife” who signed the letter.

Here’s more, from Fox News Insider:

Todd Piro said Saturday on “Fox & Friends” that there’s a feeling within the military community that President Trump and his administration has a newfound respect for the military not seen in past administrations.

“Whether or not you agree with President Trump … you have to give the man and his administration credit for what they have done for our veterans,” Piro said.

Ed Henry added that Fabela is someone who truly makes America great.

The video was widely enjoyed as it received more than 15,000 comments and nearly 70,000 shares.
