The city of McAllen, Texas tweeted that the incident was an attempted robbery and no firearm was discharged, contrary to earlier reports.

Several suspects have been taken into custody following an attempted robbery at a jewelry store at La Plaza Mall in McAllen Saturday afternoon, according to the McAllen Police Department.

No injuries or shots were fired at the scene.

McAllen police say the sound of breaking glass is what triggered reports of shots fired.

As TIME reports, some videos which claim to be at the La Plaza Mall have emerged on social media.
