Gowdy: Democrat Silence Is How You Know There’s No Trump-Russian Collusion

Liberals hoping to find evidence of collusion between members of the Trump campaign and Russians will be left at the altar, Republican Congressman Trey Gowdy said in an interview on Sunday.

During the segment on “Fox News Sunday,” the South Carolina Representative said there is, in fact, no evidence of collusion. Gowdy said that Washington has turned into a leaky faucet with everything from phone call transcripts to secret congressional dealings have been leaked by Democrats to score cheap political points over Republicans. So, if Democrats had something on the president, Gowdy argued, it would have been leaked.

“I have not seen one scintilla of evidence that this president colluded, conspired, confederated with Russia, and neither has anyone else, or you may rest assured Adam Schiff would have leaked it,” Gowdy said, per Daily Wire.

“That’s why they’ve moved off of collusion onto obstruction of justice, which is now their current preoccupation,” he also said. Here’s more:

Schiff, a California Democrat, has been among the most vocal Trump haters. As head of the House Intelligence Committee, Schiff is privy to a lot of information that others are not — and leaks of information have streamed out of the committee.

Schiff also toes the Democratic line, spouting the party’s talking points on CNN and MSNBC. Last week, he ripped Trump for his meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, saying the president “acts like he’s compromised.”

“For whatever reason, this president acts like he’s compromised,” Schiff told ABC’s This Week on Sunday. “It may very well be that he is compromised or it may very well be that he believes that he’s compromised, that the Russians have information on him,” he said.

“There is simply no other way to explain why he would side with this Kremlin, former KGB officer, rather than his own intelligence agencies,” Schiff said.

Schiff’s reputation for leaking sensitive information drew up a response from former Secret Service agent Dan Bongino during a “Fox & Friends” interview on Monday. Bongino, who heads a conservative podcast titled “The Dan Bongino Show,” called Schiff a “fraud and a liar” and said he seeks to distract American voters with the “Russian hoax.”

Per the Daily Caller:

“Fox & Friends” played a clip of Schiff claiming President Donald Trump is acting as if he’s been “compromised” by the Russian government and Bongino responded by calling Schiff’s credibility into question.

Bongino said Schiff has been lying to the American people and is trying to lend credence to a “hoax,” in an attempt to derail the Trump administration.

“I think Schiff’s a fraud. A liar, a disgrace. He’s an embarrassment to himself, the Congress, the country,” Bongino said. “Adam Schiff has been the lead hoaxer.”

“He’s has been out there on television for a year looking in the face of you, America, and lying to every one of you in an effort to distract the entire country on a hoax Russia scandal.”

And, “He is a fraud. And he should be called out as a fraud. He has been lying to everyone.”

As for the Mueller investigation itself, more than 30 people have been indicted and loads of material has been brought forth as evidence for the indictments, but not one person has been charged or prosecuted for collusion. Mueller himself has admitted Trump is no longer a central component of the investigation.

From ABC News:

The first trial in special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation is set to begin this week when former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort heads to court in Alexandria, Virginia.

Although Manafort is the first to face trial, the recent indictment of 12 Russian military intelligence officers could be a sign that Mueller’s investigation is heating up.

More than 30 individuals and/or companies have now been charged in Mueller’s probe into Russian interference in the 2016 U.S. election. It’s also spurred other investigations, including an ongoing probe by the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York.

Despite the lengthy investigation and no collusion evidence to show, American taxpayers are still footing the bill for what Trump calls a “witch hunt.”
