If it is true that behind every great man, there is a great woman, then there is no better example than First Lady Melania Trump.

She has remained firm next to her husband, despite nearly constant attacks from the media and those on the Left. And, on Wednesday night, the first lady shined bright during an evening full of patriotic celebrations.

Melania and her husband hosted a picnic for military members and their families at the White House South Lawn. Later, they enjoyed a fireworks show which lit up the evening sky.

But, while some eyes looked up to view the fireworks show, many remained on the first lady who looked dazzling in a blue and white dress. Her attire was adorned with a red ribbon.

Per the Daily Caller:

Melania Trump rang in the Fourth of July Wednesday at the White House dressed in a gorgeous blue and white gingham dress.

The first lady looked extremely patriotic in the 3/4 length sleeve dress that went all the way to the floor.

She completed the festive look with loose hair, a bright red leather belt around her waist and red flat shoes.

Here’s more, from President Trump:

The president spoke briefly at the White House event where he expressed the freedom Americans were enjoying was purchased at a heavy price.

“Our freedom only exists because there are brave Americans willing to give their lives to defend it and defend our great country,” Trump shared, per the Daily Caller. “American liberty has been earned through the blood, sweat, and sacrifice of American patriots.”

“The immortal story of the American warrior is written in the fields of Gettysburg, the sands of Iwo Jima, the mountains of Afghanistan and the snow of Valley Forge,” Trump continued. “It is the story of honor, duty, loyalty and love. To every service member here today and watching around the world — they’re all watching — and to your incredible families, these are truly unbelievable people, thank you for keeping America safe, strong, proud, mighty and free.”

Here’s more on the White House event, from Daily Mail:

President Trump tweeted a picture of him and First Lady Melania watching on as fireworks lit up the sky of Washington, DC, for the annual Fourth of July fireworks display.

Hundreds packed the National Mall to see the spectacular burst of sound and color as explosions blazed across the Washington sky and Trump tweeted, ‘Happy birthday America!’

The White House organized a special concert to mark the Fourth as a rival to the traditional concert broadcast by PBS from the U.S. Capitol’s West Lawn.

PBS’ ‘A Capitol Fourth’, hosted by the National Park Service, had the bigger stars, including The Beach Boys, Jimmy Buffett, Pentatonix, Chita Rivera, Luke Combs and The Temptations. It was hosted by John Stamos.

The entertainers on the 90-minute White House event included singer-songwriter Sara Evans, pianist Lola Astanova and two former ‘American Idol’ finalists.
