A presidential hopeful campaigning in California, vilifying Trump, and reaching out to illegal immigrants and the Hispanic community sounds like something out of the Left’s playbook.
But, the twist: the candidate campaigning around Los Angeles, meeting with activists and businessmen is running for the presidency in Mexico.
Fox News reports Ricardo Anaya Cortes is meeting with members of the heavily-populated Hispanic community of LA as well as current UCLA president and former Obama Aministration Department of Homeland Security chief Janet Napolitano.
“Why is a Mexican presidential hopeful campaigning in CA? Will CA Democratic candidates go to Mexico to campaign there before the US elections? Do migrants move from one country to another and vote on both elections?” a user on social media asked of the unusual campaign across the border.
From the report:
According to Excelsior, Anaya said that “we are one,” and reiterated that the Mexican migrant community in the U.S. is not alone. While on American soil, he also took a swipe at President Trump by saying he would not be on the side of “an American president who has dedicated himself to insulting our community.”
Relations between Trump and Mexico have been strained since the very beginning of Trump’s campaign when he described the immigrants coming from Mexico in harsh terms.
When Mexico sends its people, they’re not sending their best,” Trump said in June 2015.
Anaya swiped both President Trump and the current Mexican President for being too tolerant of Trump:
Trump has also clashed with Mexican leaders over his campaign pledge that Mexico would pay for the wall on the southern border.

“After Donald Trump had been insulting, and revolting at the best that Mexico has in the United States, they dared to roll out a red carpet to receive him in Los Pinos, as if he were a head of state,” he said, according to the Center for Immigration Studies.
Appealing to the Mexican community, he said that those who have entered the U.S. are “the heroes of the country.”
“I want to ask you, with my heart in my hand, that every time you hear an aggressive or denigrating expression, remember that there, in Mexico, you are the heroes of the country, the brave, the enterprising, the generous, those who dared to cross the border to give their family a better future,” the candidate said, via Fox News.

Some stupid questions: Why is a Mexican presidential hopeful campaigning in CA? Will CA Democratic candidates go to Mexico to campaign there before the US elections? Do migrants move from one country to another and vote on both elections?

I guess he thinks California is still part of Mexico. Oops so do the state’s governor, AG, assembly and big city mayors.

This guy needs to take back all of the illegals when he goes back to Mexico 😉

Why is he campaigning in CA? Can the illegals vote in both countries?

It’s only a matter of time before MS-13 members begin to hold office in California. It’s a shame that the safety of Americans comes second to the desire to protect criminals.

Oh my gosh. PLEASE make California part of Mexico. PLEASE!!!!!

All a Mexican president should be saying is thanks for letting us stay so long, thanks for your generosity, we love our people so want them back, we want our people to dream in their own country.
