Coming To The East Coast? In-N-Out Gets Offer Amid Democrat Boycott

California Democrats have decided to boycott beloved fast-food chain In-N-Out Burger after it was learned they donated $25,000 to the state’s Republican Party. While the restaurant chain regularly donates to both political parties, it seems a line was crossed and Democrats put out the call for a boycott.

An Alabama state senator has extended an invitation to In-N-Out to head east, should they need the additional revenue.

State Senator Phil Williams, a Republican, took to social media to extend the invite.

“Hey #InNOutBurger c’mon to Alabama! We love burgers, and we love #Republicans! #alpolitics,” he tweeted.

As Fox News reports, Eric Bauman, chairman of the California Democratic Party, initiated calls for the boycott in a tweet on Thursday.

“Tens of thousands of dollars donated to the California Republican Party … it’s time to #BoycottInNOut – let Trump and his cronies support these creeps… perhaps animal style!”, Bauman tweeted.

Some other people jumped into the online discussion and said they would be joining the boycott:

Arnie Wensinger, In-N-Out vice president responded to the pushback and said, via Business Insider, “We have been fortunate to do business in this great state for almost 70 years. While it is unfortunate that our contributions to support both political parties in California has caused concern with some groups, we believe that bipartisan support is a fair and consistent approach that best serves the interests of our company and all of our customers.”

Some other people online said they will continue to go to In-N-Out and will look forward to having to wait in a shorter line. Williams’ invitation was echoed several times online. And, people from other states extended invitations of their own:

Here’s more on Williams, via Yellow Hammer News:

While the nearest locations of the burger joint to Alabama are currently in the heart of Texas, Williams is encouraging that to change.

Williams, an outgoing state senator who chose not to seek re-election to a third term, is also chair of the Etowah County Republican Party and on the Alabama Republican Party’s State Executive Committee.
