Democrat Senator Asked If Her Party Leaked Ford Allegations, Her Reaction Says Everything

One question which emerged from last week’s hearing which featured Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh and his accuser Christine Blasey Ford was how the allegation surfaced in the first place.

Ford testified that only four camps had her letter which included the allegation: Democrat Congresswoman Anna Eshoo and her office, Democrat Senator Dianne Feinstein and her office, Ford’s lawyers, and Ford herself.

During her testimony, Ford said neither she nor her lawyers shared the contents of the letter with anyone. This leaves only Eshoo and Feinstein—who sits as Ranking Member of the Senate Judiciary Committee.

It would make sense for Democrats to release the contents of the letter to the media to generate controversy and call for delays and an FBI investigation (which is underway).

Senator Tom Cotton and others are calling for an investigation into Feinstein’s office to see who released Ford’s allegation, but Feinstein attested to her own innocence. And around and around it goes.

Democrat Senator Mazie Hirono was interviewed by ABC News host George Stephanopoulos and was asked about whether Democrats leaked the letter.

“Are you confident Democrats did not leak the letter?” Stephanopoulos asked very plainly.

Notice her answer:

“All of these things do not focus on what we should be focusing on, which is the credibility of Judge Kavanaugh,” Hirono replied.

Subject change, dodge, refusal to answer…

“And all kinds of other studies or investigations can occur, but right now what we need to focus on is our ability as senators to do our advice and consent job to determine whether Judge Kavanaugh is credible, whether he was candid with us,” Hirono continued. “Whether his demeanor, by the way, in accusing Democrats of some kind of conspiracy to do him in, was so bizarre.”

As Washington Examiner reports, Republican Senator Lindsay Graham recently called for an investigation into “who betrayed Dr. Ford’s trust.”

Here’s more:

Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., vowed Sunday to launch a thorough inquiry into Democrats on the Senate Judiciary Committee to find out whether there was any wrongdoing in how they managed the sexual misconduct allegation Christine Blasey Ford leveled at Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh.

“We’re going to do a wholesale, full scale investigation of what I think was a despicable process to deter it from happening again,” Graham said during an interview on ABC News’ “This Week.”

“The FBI will do a supplemental background investigation, then I’m going to call for an investigation of what happened in this committee. Who betrayed Dr. Ford’s trust? Who in Feinstein’s office recommended Katz as a lawyer? Why did Ms. Ford not know that the committee was willing to go to California?” Graham continued, referring to Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., and Debra Katz, one of Ford’s attorneys who has been involved in Democratic politics in the past.
