It is being reported that a two-week budget deal, referred to as a continuing resolution, has cleared the House of Representatives via a voice vote.
The new bill will continue the existing levels of funding for another two weeks, giving members more time to discuss and debate a more permanent solution. In the meantime, the bill heads to the Senate for a final vote.

“The House just passed H.J. Res. 143, the Continuing Resolution keeping the federal government open through December 21, 2018, by unanimous consent,” the House Appropriations Committee tweeted. “The Continuing Resolution now heads to the Senate.”
“This Continuing Resolution is a clean extension of the previous CR, which affects about 25% of discretionary funding for government operations,” the committee added.
There is some dispute concerning the continued levels as Democrat lawmakers, including House Democrat Leader Nancy Pelosi, argue the levels of funding currently granted for the funding of a border fence do not constitute a border wall.
The semantic debate was echoed by Senate Democrat Leader Chuck Schumer.
President Trump has indicated he would sign a two-week continuing resolution amid the death of former President George H.W. Bush.
Fox News’ Chad Pergram reports that some Republican members are not interested in heading back to Washington D.C. to debate a new budget agreement before the two-week resolution would expire.
