It was hard to miss the wide-spread coverage of Virginia Governor Ralph Northam and his racist yearbook photo. Seemingly every mainstream media outlet covered the news story as it quickly became Friday’s biggest.
CNN was no different in their coverage except for one major difference: they labeled the Virginia governor a Republican.

Northam, who is a Democrat, was repeatedly called to resign by his fellow Democrats. Several Democrats who announced presidential bids called for the governor to resign, including Senators Elizabeth Warren, Kamala Harris, Cory Booker, and Kirsten Gillibrand, and former Obama Administration Secretary Julian Castro.
