LOL: Wendy’s And Other Companies Hilariously Troll Super Bowl LIII

So the pinnacle game of the NFL season between the New England Patriots and the Los Angeles Rams was not the most exciting, especially compared to the last two years.

Fans have probably grown to expect the shootouts, the big plays, the comebacks, one team standing triumphantly over a capable challenger… but Super Bowl LIII did not bring any of that.

Some people described Sunday night’s big game, which ended up being the lowest scoring Super Bowl game ever, as boring or lackluster. By the game’s end, both teams only combined for 16 points.

If you watched the game, then you may have heard groans as the Rams’ first eight possessions ended with punts (a Super Bowl record). Or, going into halftime with the score of 3 to 0 (another Super Bowl record), you may have wanted to take a break from the game’s lack of action. Rest assured, you weren’t the only ones as many people took to social media and trolled the game’s sluggish pace.

“Wendy’s and a gaggle of goofy brands took to Twitter to amuse themselves at the Super Bowl’s expense,” Twitchy reports.

Wendy’s was seemingly the first to chime in on the game’s dormancy. Check it out:

Moon Pie and Pop-Tarts also jumped in:

And, Little Debbie and Insomnia Cookies:

The game was played at the Mercedes-Benz stadium in Atlanta, Georgia. The car brand also took to social media and poked fun at the game, though they ultimately deleted their tweet, Twitchy reports.

Here’s a screenshot from the report:
