Ocasio-Cortez Rants How America’s Top Immigration Enforcement Agency Is ‘Dangerous’

There seems to be a rift in the Democrat Party when it comes to supporting the country’s largest immigration enforcement agency, the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

Some Democrats want it completely defunded and tossed away. Some others want it funded and rebranded. Some want it, exactly how it is—to protect America’s borders and offered their support in a recent bill.

Democratic Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez had a problem with what she called the “pro-ICE provision” and said the agency was “dangerous” and accused it of “rape, abuse of power,” and allowing children to die under their watch.

The New York Democrat made the claim in a series of tweets where she responded to an allegation that she may face a primary in her next election:

“Again, didn’t threaten a primary. I was upset that 26 Dems forced the other 200+ to vote for a pro-ICE provision at the last min without warning,” Ocasio-Cortez tweeted. “Because I think an agency that pins children down + forcibly injects them w/ antipsychotic drugs shouldn’t be given more power.”

Ocasio-Cortez concluded her rant, saying: “If you’re mad that I think people SHOULD KNOW when Dems vote to expand ICE powers, then be mad. ICE is a dangerous agency with 0 accountability, widespread reporting of rape, abuse of power, + children dying in DHS custody.”

“Having a D next to your name doesn’t make that right,” she adds.

“[ICE] do not deserve a dime until they can prove that they are honoring human rights, until they can make a good faith effort to expand and embrace immigrants … Until they can prove good faith to an American ideal, they do not deserve any resources for their radical agenda,” Ocasio-Cortez also said in a speech, Fox News reports.
