Democrats in the House are utilizing their majority in the chamber to conduct a read-a-thon where members are taking turns reading out-loud, word-for-word Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s final report.
The Democrats’ decision is a head-scratcher for Republican Congressman Mark Meadows who criticized their effort to dramatize the publicly available document.
Twitchy reports because every American can read the Mueller report online, Meadows took issue with Democrats spending hours to read it on the House floor.
“Calling this a stunt is kind,” he tweeted.
“Incredible that with all the issues Congress needs to tackle, your House Democrat majority instead chooses to spend its time doing a marathon reading of the Mueller report—which, by the way, is already available ONLINE for any American to read,” the North Carolina Republican tweeted.
The entire Democratic strategy could become an entire self-own, Meadows contended, when they get to the summation that Trump is innocent—despite their claims that the 2016 election was illegitimate and that Russia interfered.
“Let us know when they get to this part: ‘the investigation did not establish that members of the Trump Campaign conspired or coordinated with the Russian government,'” Meadows added in another tweet.
