Trump Swipes Fox News After Pete Buttigieg Townhall: ‘Fox is Moving More and More to The Losing (Wrong) Side in Covering the Dems’

Fox News hosted Democratic presidential candidate Pete Buttigieg for a town hall on Sunday night in what was expected to be a pressing and challenging public policy discussion.

Moderator Chris Wallace kicked off the townhall remarking that the crowd in attendance was the largest of all the other Democratic town halls and gleefully introduced Buttigieg as “Mayor Pete.” Wallace pressed the candidate on some national issues including his youth and his claim that politics needs “generational change.”

Later in the town hall, Buttigieg insulted Fox News personalities Tucker Carlson and Laura Ingraham, BizPac Review reports, without any defense from Wallace.

According to the report, the venue was packed with Buttigieg supporters and others on the Left who cheered as the candidate continued his criticisms.

BizPac Review reports:

Wouldn’t these so-called town halls be for more interesting if they were actually attended by a cross-section of voters from across the political spectrum? Instead, we get people who react as if they are a game show audience reacting to and even reading from cue cards, waiting for their complementary goody bag of trinkets to be passed out after the lights go down.

Through the hour-long program, moderator Chris Wallace directed “Mayor Pete,” as he jovially called him, to talk about his youth, leadership experience, “inclusive” policy plans, abortion, drug addiction, and debt.

Toward the end of the love-fest, Buttigieg went after Fox News personalities Tucker Carlson and Laura Ingraham … among the network’s opinion hosts who were “not always there in good faith,” he said. He called out Carlson, for saying immigrants made the United States “dirtier” and Laura Ingraham, for once saying she would compare detention centers for migrant children to summer camps. “There is a reason why anybody has to swallow hard and think twice before participating in this media ecosystem,” Buttigieg said.

Wallace made no comment and provided no defense against the candidate’s criticisms of Fox News.

President Trump said Fox News was “wasting airtime” with the town hall and said the network—which he is akin to watching—is “moving more and more to the losing (wrong) side.”

“Hard to believe that @FoxNews is wasting airtime on Mayor Pete, as Chris Wallace likes to call him,” Trump tweeted.

“Fox is moving more and more to the losing (wrong) side in covering the Dems. They got dumped from the Democrats boring debates, and they just want in,” the president continued. “They forgot the people who got them there. Chris Wallace said, ‘I actually think, whether you like his opinions or not, that Mayor Pete has a lot of substance…fascinating biography.’ Gee, he never speaks well of me – I like Mike Wallace better…and Alfred E. Newman will never be President!”

Fox News host Brian Kilmeade also hit back at Buttigieg’s comments:
