Democratic Congresswoman Maxine Waters does not want the country praising President Trump for refusing to retaliate against Iran.
After the country shot down an unmanned U.S. drone, Trump stopped his military generals from launching a missile strike onto Iranian compounds.
Although several reports emerged that suggested Trump’s decision may have saved up to 35 lives, Waters took to Twitter to say she does not believe Trump should be given any credit.
“Trump, you get no credit for so-called stopping the strike against Iran. Why was the unmanned drone in Iran’s airspace? Why the surveillance? Don’t provoke and then pretend innocence,” Waters wrote in a tweet.
Retired veteran and Republican Congressman Dan Crenshaw called Waters’ comment “shocking” and contended she was “literally repeating the lies of the Iranian regime.”
“What a disgrace,” he added.
And, “Maxine Waters’ hate for Trump runs so deep that she is willing to take Iran’s side over the word of our military.”
As Twitchy reports, in another tweet, Waters wrongly argued that Trump was unauthorized to use military force against Iran.
Here’s how some other people responded to Waters:
