At least one reporter completely missed a recent joke by President Trump, when he declared himself the “chosen one” to finally take on China in a trade war, and asked him to clarify the remark ahead of him leaving Washington D.C. for the G7 summit in France.
Trump recently donned himself the person willing and capable to stand up to China’s decades-long trading practices which have taken billions of dollars from the U.S.
While about to board Air Force One and leave for the international gathering, the reporter asked Trump about the comment.
Trump had to break it down for him.
“Let me tell you — you know exactly what I meant,” he said per BizPac Review. “It was sarcasm. It was joking. We were all smiling. And the question like that is just fake news. You’re just a faker.”
BizPac Review reports: “Trump’s original comment was made on Wednesday and the left predictably picked it up, took it out of context and ran with it.”
When I looked up to the sky and jokingly said “I am the chosen one,” at a press conference two days ago, referring to taking on Trade with China, little did I realize that the media would claim that I had a “Messiah complex.” They knew I was kidding, being sarcastic, and just….

Speaking to a group of reporters outside of the White House several says ago, the president said: “Somebody said it is Trump’s trade war. This isn’t my trade war. This is a trade war that should have taken place a long time ago by a lot of other presidents.”
“Somebody had to do it,” the president also said.
BizPac Review reports:
The president then looked up at the sky and said, “I am the chosen one.”
While the left took this comment and tried to use it as an example of the president’s supposed incompetence, it’s clearly a joke from a man frustrated with ridiculous questions from a media pretending like he is the first president to express an issue with China.

CNN even published a piece entitled, “Yes, Donald Trump really believes he is ‘the chosen one.’”
We live in such absurd times that the president, in the middle of a trade war with China, has to take time out of his day to sit the mainstream media down like children and explain to them how a joke works.
The fact that the media so often misrepresents Trump’s sarcasm and entertainer style is just one example of their deliberate dishonesty.
