Democrats finally had their night where, for seven hours during a CNN Town Hall, Democratic presidential candidates shared what actions they would take as president to save the planet.
Each candidate was afforded 40 minutes to talk and the climate conversation included several candidates pitching mutli-trillion plans to protect the environment, while others advocated for fundamental changes to the United States social and economic systems.
Senator Elizabeth Warren described how she wanted to decarbonize electricity, transportation, and heating and cooling systems.
Former Vice President Joe Biden said the U.S. should motivate other countries to get involved and take action.
Former Obama administration secretary Julian Castro called for the end of natural gas as a source of fuel.
Entrepreneur Andrew Yang described how the fossil fuel industry has “taken our legislature (Congress) hostage” and that he would free them from influencing policy.
And, Senator Bernie Sanders said he would support abortion as a means to control the overpopulation of the planet—both in the United States and abroad.
Yuck. Bernie says yes to abortions related to population control for the climate’s sake. pic.twitter.com/Hw8d5yijCe

An audience member, addressing Sanders, said via the Washington Examiner: “Human population growth has more than doubled in the past 50 years. The planet cannot sustain this growth. I realize this is a poisonous topic for politicians, but it’s crucial to face.”
“Empowering women and educating everyone on the need to curb population growth seems a reasonable campaign to enact. Would you be courageous enough to discuss this issue and make it a key feature of a plan to address climate catastrophe?” she asked.
Sanders spryly rose from his seat and said: “The answer is yes and the answer has everything to do with the fact that women — in the United States of America, by the way — have a right to control their own bodies and make reproductive decisions.”
The crowd cheered.
“And the Mexico City agreement, which denies American aid to those organizations around the world that allow women to have abortions or even get involved in birth control, to me is totally absurd,” the senator continued. “So I think especially in poor countries around the world, where women do not necessarily want to have large numbers of babies and where they can have the opportunity through birth control to the number of kids they have: something I very, very strongly support.”

Here’s how some people responded to the comment:
Bernie Sanders wants to prevent disadvantaged populations from reproducing by forcing taxpayers to help poor people across the world kill their children.
This is sickening.
And prejudiced. pic.twitter.com/WChlB6YNti

During CNN’s #ClimateTownHall, Bernie Sanders said YOUR tax dollars should be used to fund abortions in foreign countries to reduce population size.
Are you kidding?? That’s horrifying, and tells you just how little regard radical liberals have for innocent life. pic.twitter.com/6yj8e5zzDk

Bernie Sanders, an elderly man pushing 80, wants to solve the "overpopulation" problem by killing babies. He is going to hang onto his own existence for as long as he can but he has no problem exterminating the younger generations in order to make his final years more comfortable

Nothing to see here, just Bernie Sanders talking about funding abortion of unborn children in poor countries, disproportionately babies of color, in order to fight climate change https://t.co/wOD3gttA15
