Celebrity attorney Mark Geragos found himself in trouble last week after he was identified by the Wall Street Journal as the person listed as an alleged co-conspirator in an indictment against Michael Avenatti in a $20 million extortion plot against Nike.
While Avenatti was arrested last week, Geragos has not been arrested or charged.
The plan allegedly involved threatening to release information that Nike paid college basketball players.
After Geragos was connected to the case, he was let go from CNN where he has been employed as a legal analyst.
Celebrity attorney Mark Geragos raged against CNN and threatened to tell all after the network dropped him in light of his alleged involvement in the Nike extortion plot.
On Tuesday, the network announced it was parting ways with the longtime legal contributor.
And he was furious with how he had been cut loose.
“They ought to change their name to the ‘Cut and Run Network,’” Geragos told Carolla. “I’ve been texted by all of their anchors who are as outraged as I am that after 20 years, a press conference is enough to have them immediately want to disassociate themselves.”
Mark Geragos has represented some famous clients over the years from Michael Jackson and Colin Kaepernick to his present client, Jussie Smollett.
Geragos has been affiliated with CNN for two decades, so one imagines he has to have plenty to tell.
