While many Democrats have rallied behind former Vice President Joe Biden over the allegations of him inappropriately touching women, he’s now facing more women coming forward detailing their experiences.
The first person to come forward was Lucy Flores, a former Democratic lawmaker who said that Biden had come up behind her, placed his hands on her shoulders, pulled close to her, sniffed her hear and then planted a slow kiss on the back of her head. Amy Lappos claimed that Biden pulled her head into his him and rubbed noses during a fundraiser.
Now two more women are detailing their “uncomfortable interactions” with Biden stories.
From The Hill:
The women, Caitlyn Caruso and D. J. Hill, recounted their experiences to The New York Times.
Caruso, 22, told the Times that Biden rested his hand on her thigh even as she attempted to show her discomfort by squirming in her seat during an event on sexual assault at the University of Nevada at Las Vegas. Caruso, who was 19 at the time, added that Biden hugged her “just a little bit too long.”
She told the newspaper that the interaction was uncomfortable because she had just talked about her own sexual assault and expected Biden to be aware of physical boundaries.
“It doesn’t even really cross your mind that such a person would dare perpetuate harm like that,” she told the Times. “These are supposed to be people you can trust.”
Hill, 59, told the newspaper that while taking a photograph with Biden in 2012, the then-vice president placed his hand on her shoulder and began moving it down her back, something she said made her “very uncomfortable.”

“Only he knows his intent,” she added.
Hill had been with her husband at the time and she said he interrupted Biden’s movement of his hand down her back.
Multiple Democrats including House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) and Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) have come to Biden’s defense, basically saying that’s just Biden’s “affectionate” way. Feinstein and Manchin even demonstrated how he touched people to demonstrate.
But as more women come forward, that position may be harder to hold.
Biden spokespeople have blamed the controversy of the multiple pictures and videos already in circulation of Biden’s questionable interactions with woman on “right wing trolls,” despite the fact it’s Democratic women now coming forward.
Biden has denied intentionally touching anyone inappropriately.
